Frequently asked questions
What prospective scholars need to know
Is the HealthTech Foundations Scholarship free?
Yes. The scholarship is free for selected participants. It is a competitive programme delivered by BiteLabs in partnership with More Than Medics.
Who is eligible to apply?
The scholarship is designed for UK medical students who are curious about digital health and can commit to the five-week programme and capstone project.
Do I need coding or technical experience?
No. Coding and previous technical experience are not required. The programme is designed as an accessible foundation in health technology.
How is the programme delivered?
The five-week programme includes five live online sessions and guided capstone work. An in-person capstone pitch day is provisionally planned for the first weekend of December. Session recordings are available.
What is the expected time commitment?
Scholars should plan to attend five weekly online sessions and set aside additional time between sessions to develop their capstone project. Final session timings will be shared with selected scholars.
What happens if I cannot attend a live workshop?
Live participation is encouraged, but session recordings are available so scholars can catch up when needed.
When will I hear the outcome of my application?
Application outcomes will be issued on 12 October 2026.
When does the programme run?
The programme begins on Tuesday 27 October 2026. Online sessions run weekly through Tuesday 24 November 2026. An in-person capstone pitch day is provisionally planned for the first weekend of December.
What do scholars receive after the programme?
Participants who successfully complete the programme receive a certificate and access to the Scholar WhatsApp group. Strong submissions may also be considered for additional recognition and opportunities, but these are not guaranteed.
